Examining the Challenges and Solutions to Natural Resources Issues in the Presence of Members of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environ

In a meeting with the presence of members of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environment Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majles) which was held in the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization (NRWO/FRWO) Headquarters on Saturday evening, natural resources programs and challenges in the forest, rangeland, desert and watershed management sectors were discussed to achieve an acceptable result and make a progress in advance with like-mindedness and thinking.

In a meeting with the presence of members of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environment Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majles) which was held in the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization (NRWO/FRWO) Headquarters on Saturday evening, natural resources programs and challenges in the forest, rangeland, desert and watershed management sectors were discussed to achieve an acceptable result and make a progress in advance with like-mindedness and thinking.

According to NRWO's (FRWO's) website, Dr. Massoud Mansour, Deputy Minister and Head of NRWO (FRWO) at this meeting addressed the most important challenges and super-challenges of natural resources, especially the protection, pests and diseases of the Zagros forests, water, soil and watershed management, and combating desertification and sand and dust storms (SDS), and strategies for the development of the country's natural resources.

Mansour also referred to the drafting and promulgation of the Participatory Desert Management Document in 2021/1400 and noted that this action has provided the basis for using the investment capacity and participation of the private sector, civil society institutions, people, donors and executive bodies.

He also called for more active diplomacy with neighboring countries to solve the problem concerning water and soil resources to solve the problem of sand and dust storms (SDS) and explained that the occurrence of drought and the influx of SDS has caused irreparable and serious damage to valuable forests of the Zagros.
